The Difference Between Point Lasers and Line Lasers Point lasers, as a single-point measurement technology, utilize a single laser source and a receiver. When the laser illuminates the object's surface, the reflected light is received by the receiver and converted into an electrical signal. By measuring this signal, the position and height of the laser point can be determined. The working principle of point lasers is mainly based on triangulation or time-of-flight principles. Line lasers, on the other hand, are a linear measurement technology that uses a laser and a special scanning prism to form a linear beam. As the scanning prism rotates, the laser line scans the object's surface, forming a continuous linear scanning band. By measuring the position and height of each point, the two-dimensional or three-dimensional shape of the object can be obtained. The working principle of line lasers is similar to that of point lasers, also based on triangulation or time-of-flight principles.
