Robert's Story: From Mountain Dreams to Global Ambition

Spark of Determination
Robert was born in a remote mountain village where the power supply was unstable. Once, the whole village was without electricity for a year because of a damaged transformer due to thunder. As a child, he often helped his mother spend hours doing tedious housework. Because there were no good electrical appliances at home, the living standard never improved. This early experience of poverty planted a seed in the heart of young Robert – he dreamed of inventing some machines that would make life easier and happier for families around the world.

Despite limited educational resources, Robert’s academic performance was excellent, especially in physics. His physics teacher noticed that he was good at disassembling and repairing broken electronic products, and often said: “This kid doesn’t just fix things, he can make them better.” This combination of practical skills and innovative thinking became Robert’s trademark.

In college, Robert majored in business administration, because his poor family forced him to work and study to support his livelihood; at the same time, he minored in mechanical automation because physics knowledge has always been his interest. After graduation, he worked in a foreign trade company selling machinery and equipment abroad. While others mechanically repeated their work, Robert studied every component of the machine and every production process. His notebook was filled with observations: “Why does this motor fail after 500 hours of operation?” “How can we improve the water filtration effect of this design?”

His breakthrough came from his redesign of a defective electronic component in a water purification device. The engineering team initially rejected the suggestion of this “factory boy”, but after testing, Robert’s solution outperformed theirs. This promoted him to the product development department and made him more convinced that he could create extraordinary products.

The Birth of Vision
Robert stayed up late and worked overtime in the factory to start making his own prototypes. Colleagues jokingly called him the “Frankenstein Machine” – those unconventional combinations of parts that were somehow better than the original machines. But Robert saw what others didn’t see: most electrical appliances are designed for function, not experience.

“I don’t want to make a toaster that only makes toast,” he told his skeptical boss. “I wanted to create appliances that people would love to use every day.” When companies refused to fulfill his vision, Robert made the difficult decision to start his own business, with only his notebook and his meager savings.

Hardships of Entrepreneurship
Minfu’s early years were tough. Robert converted his small apartment into a studio and slept among piles of parts. His first prototype—a smart vacuum that recharged itself—took eight months to develop. Potential investors scoffed, “Who needs a stupid vacuum?”

Undaunted, Robert took his prototype to trade shows, demonstrating how his machine could be hands-free and efficient at cleaning floor dust. When a Brazilian customer placed an order for 500 units, it confirmed Robert’s belief that superior design could create its own market.

The Innovator Who Never Gives Up
Today, Robert still personally tests every new product prototype, often taking them apart to the last screw. “If I can’t use it in my own home,” he says, “I won’t ask customers to use it in theirs.” This obsessive pursuit of detail has made Minfu synonymous with innovation in home appliances.

Robert’s journey from starting a business in a mountain village to running an international company embodies his core belief: “Great products aren’t born in boardrooms—they come from a true understanding of people’s needs.” His story continues to inspire every team member at Minfu, reminding us that with enough passion and perseverance, even the most ambitious dreams can become reality.
